Why You Should Read “See You at Harry’s”
By Jo Knowles Right Now!
See you at Harry's is a realistic
fiction book about a toddler who dies. KEEP READING. This book is about a
family who has a family business, so they see each other a lot, however, they
are not close. They are all dealing with personal problems. Fern, the main character
has Fern left out by her family since Charlie was born causing her to hate him.
(He is 3) Fern is forced to babysit her annoying little brother (Charlie),
until, after looking away for split second, her little brother is walking onto
the street. Not being able to catch him, he gets hit by a car. However, he is
fine, not a scratch. Thinking he was okay fern doesn’t tell his parents. Until
the next morning, he doesn’t wake up. He suffered brain injuries that if
doctors saw sooner, he could have lived. Fern struggles with feeling guilty for
multiple aspects of his passing. Fern’s family gets closer than ever and slowly
becomes stronger as a family. It is very well written and engaging. Reading it
was like watching a movie. This book is heartwarming and heartbreaking I love
it though and would 100 % recommend reading it.
Good job to whoever wrote this! The summary you gave was great and I appreciate the trigger warning you included. Though why did you enjoy this book though and why do you think that someone should read it?
